Idea Overload

I'm back from my trip to Singapore, and I have a whole ton of ideas for lasercraft, can't say them, though, it's a secret.

Progress(??)

I was at Thermiteguy's house today, we did some coding, and I made some item codes. Near the end of my visit, he managed to delete every bit of code in the jar file. Luckily, we can fix that, but honestly, its pretty funny. I had just asked him to put a simple .PNG file into a certain folder, and this happened. Amazing how little things can lead to such big things.

Trial and Error

Took a whack at making the laser beam block, it didn't burn anything. I think instead of setting material to fire, I'll set it to air. Gahh, beta 1.7 will be out in a few days, I don't know what I'll do then.

The Mod

So, I was lurking around the forums, in the modding section to be exact, and found no mods that contained laserbeamzofdoom. Now there were handheld lasers, but not what I was looking for. So I took it upon myself to suggest the idea. But then, I realized that chances of anyone taking on the challenge were minuscule, so I decided to do it myself. After some tutorials on coding, I was ready, and finally made a bunch of items. Then I deleted them to update my mod to beta 1.6.5 and have it mod loader compatible. Tough luck, eh? Anyway, I'm back on my feet, and so far have made one mod loader compatible block. Notch just released beta 1.6.6, so I'm gonna have to update the mod when I'm done, hopefully keeping the files intact this time. Here is and image of the first block, the mirror. It will be able to reflect lasers to go to another direction, it will also be used in the crafting of a laser.

That block over there is the mirror, not sure if it should have a mirror on all sides, so the laser will always reflect from  it, or only one side.

Anyway, that's all for now, I'll get back later with more progress. I've figured that the laser will need to make a long line of air-like blocks that burn stuff. But obviously, its going to be much harder than that.
